Last Chance Harvey (2008)

Dustin Hoffman treads familiar ground in the role of a man confronted with both job and family hardships. In contrast to his 1985's sombre take, however, this film is an optimistic, pleasant, funny at times, welcome journey of that man out of his misery. Oh! and this time he has a female soul mate (Emma Thomson) to help him help her help each other out of each one's own emotional dead-ends. The scenario is nothing out of the ordinary for a typical romantic story, the actors stand well and the movie flows smoothly and interestingly enough. Some doses of good humor, a lighthearted mood and this film qualifies as a good company for more or less 90 minutes that lasts. Recommended for viewing with soul mates.
