Politiki Kouzina (2003)

This is a greek movie in fact. A movie from the really poor modern greek cinema. The plot deals with a family that was forced to move from Konstantinoupoli (Istanbul) to Athens, the problems they had in Istanbul and the problems they met in Athens. This story comes from the eyes of a kid who in the meantime has grown up and the whole story is decorated with several greek dishes and secrets of the greek-politiki cuisine. The movie is at a mixture of nostalgic drama and sweet-sour comedy. In any case you would get a lot of ideas about really good and spicy cooking and some information about the post-war greek culture.
