The struggle of the big daughter of the family to protect the little siblings as well as her mother, while her father is disappeared taking care of his drug business. What really impressed me in the movie, was the successful depiction of the living conditions of this family, as well the way this small society functioned. Concerning the script, I have to admit that there were several moments where the movie was balancing between boring and indifferent. Director and - in fact - creator of the movie is Debra Granik.
