In this one, Hilary Swank is trying to balance between Michelle Pfeiffer of the "Dangerous Minds" of the 90s and her role in the "Conviction" (Conviction came after Freedom Writers, however there is significant resemblance). The scenery is again a gang-governed area or school or class somewhere in California and the teacher that comes to make things better. There was nothing to the movie that makes it special. Hilary Swank has a not so impressive performance and Patrick Dempsey proves once more that the talent from his youth got lost somewhere on the way. Guess if everything works out in the end!!
