Luftslottet som sprängdes (2009)

If one decided to watch The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest without watching the previous installment, they would still be able to follow the plot and appreciate the closure. Its good storytelling however can only go so far, and because of this I highly recommend watching the three films in release date order. There is not really any genuine mystery in this final part as - due to the episodic structure of the sequels - in its entirety tries to solve already existing ones. It progresses nicely for nearly two and a half hours that lasts and the constant excitement about how things will turn out for the characters you've come to love and hate, makes it all the more interesting and involving. There were times I really appreciated how extraordinary scenes were skillfully presented to make sense. Other times the direction left me pondering about the characters' numb reactions and others I felt like being told only half of what was really happening. Great acting by the main characters but some performances were not well directed and subsequently felt unconvincing, almost distracting. Fortunately, the curse of letdown endings that haunted the trilogy is lifted as the reasonable climax and more than a satisfactory closure to the whole trilogy, proves that plot twists and turns is not always the right answer. This trilogy should not be missed!
