Several factions enter a race of life and death in search of a grand treasure, carefully hidden somewhere in the vast Asian deserts. Tribute to the mid-sixties classic, this korean production suggests a more humorous approach to the typical "spaghetti western" filmography. The story is very basic and the film in its majority follows the three antagonists (and their henchmen) in humorous, bullet-showering confrontations, as each tries to get the desirable X-marked map from each other's grasp. The over the top shootouts and the very familiarly structured chases, unfortunately, never get all that interesting. Hopefully, the humor manages to save the day. At least sometimes does. Alas, the beautiful soundtrack can hardly breathe any life to the overall unexciting action sequences. The great cast feels similarly wasted, since it's only a handful of very brief scenes which invoke its true potential. Regrettably, this is all there is to it for about 2 hours. And oh my! How can 10 minutes enrage the spectator in view of how much more could this movie have been. How can, even the slightest hint of depth in the story, not only transform the movie, but the viewer's indifferent mood to a "no, not now!" behavior as well, even have them longing for a sequel. I know, it's ridiculous. It's all the Good, the Bad, the Weird.
